Who We Are

Embracing the Ethos of Eco-innovation

Rudra Ecovation, spread across 100 acres of land in Ludhiana, stands as a beacon of environmental consciousness.

Rudra Ecovation stands out for its transformative work over the years, converting 88 millions plastic bottles daily into high-quality yarns and fibres, showcasing its commitment to sustainability and innovation in waste re-utilisation.

Our Proud History

Rudra Ecovation traces its origins to the visionary B.K. Malhotra, a textile graduate from 1958, and his son, Akhil Malhotra. They initially established the company as a leading supplier of spare parts and machinery to India’s textile mills and achieved success by 1997.

Their foresight and dedication to innovation led them to reconceptualise the traditional yarn-making process. They ingeniously devised a plant aimed at converting hazardous acrylic waste into yarn, overcoming initial challenges to achieve success.

The transformative moment for Rudra Ecovation occurred in 2006, when Akhil Malhotra, observed the conversion of PET bottles into polyester fibres in China. Recognising an opportunity to enhance this process, he engaged with suppliers in China and Germany to refine the technology.

By 2009, Rudra Ecovation had commissioned its plant in India, producing fibres of such exceptional quality that they matched the standard of virgin fibres. Their legacy continues to this day as Rudra Ecovation rapidly expands into other promising verticals and technology.
